SWAYAM Orientation Programme 2025



On August 28, 2025, the Computer Department at Loreto College, Kolkata, hosted an informative orientation session on the SWAYAM platform, focusing on its course offerings and the registration process for online courses. The talk was led by Ms. Chandrani Sengupta, Head of the Computer Department and SPOC of SWAYAM at the college. The audience comprised semester 1 students from all departments, keen to understand how they could benefit from the platform.

Ms. Sengupta began by highlighting the importance of SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), a unique initiative by the Government of India aimed at democratizing education. The platform is designed to provide accessible, high-quality education across a wide range of subjects, ensuring equal learning opportunities for students at all levels. She elaborated on how SWAYAM serves as a bridge for learners to access courses in diverse fields, including computer science, engineering, humanities, management, and more.

Ms. Sengupta emphasized that Loreto College is proud to be one of the Local Chapters of SWAYAM, offering students added support and resources to navigate the platform effectively. She detailed the various services available to students, including guidance on course selection, technical support, and assistance with examinations.
