Roles and Functions of the Society

The Eastern Cultural Society at Loreto College fosters creativity and preserves cultural heritage through performances in traditional music, dance, and drama. It integrates cultural learning with academics, enhancing students' experiential learning and appreciation for Indian arts. The society nurtures talent, boosts self-confidence, and promotes holistic development by fostering leadership, teamwork, and discipline.

Contribution to NAAC Criteria

It encourages social responsibility through cultural awareness events, aligning with NAAC's values of inclusivity, diversity, and ethical practices. The society engages in research and innovation, educating students and the community on Eastern cultural traditions, contributing to the institution’s cultural vibrancy and students’ overall growth.

About

The Eastern Cultural Society seeks to spread awareness of the rich heritage of Indian dance, music and other traditional cultural activities. Members are motivated to be creative and innovative. Throughout the year, the society contributes to several college functions, as members perform a wide range of dance and song at annual events such Prize Day and Teachers' Day. The society organizes inter-collegiate competitions in various categories of eastern music and dance at SAMAGAM. It also organizes singing and dance recital/workshops which provide unique opportunities for students to interact with eminent artistes.
