Roles and Functions of the Society

The Arts and Crafts Society enhances creativity, inclusivity, and artistic expression at Loreto College. It enriches the academic experience by organizing workshops, exhibitions, and competitions, promoting hands-on learning and skill development. The society beautifies the campus through event d�cor and artistic displays, contributing to the institution's cultural infrastructure. It fosters emotional well-being, collaboration, and personal growth while offering students opportunities to showcase their talents and explore careers in art and design.

The Arts and Crafts Society is a vibrant community that fosters creativity, self-expression, and innovation. Our mission is to provide a platform for individuals to explore their artistic talents, develop their skills, and showcase their work. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where members can share ideas, learn from each other, and grow as artists.

The staff advisors of the society are Dr. Sukanya Dasgupta, Dr. Krishnokoli Hazra and Mrs. Archita Roy Biswas. The society is headed by the President Sreshtha Chatterjee, the Vice-President Priyadarshini Roy and the Treasurer Anandi Chanda

The Arts and Crafts Society undertakes the responsibility of decoration in events such as that of Samagam, our inter-college fest. We also organize competitions in drawing and multi-media art forms and hold exhibitions. Some of our past events include Alpona competitions and organizing workshops on Art Therapy which makes our society well-rounded and holistic. Emphasizing the importance of all things handmade, the Arts and Crafts society takes great care to connect with the spirit of creativity and teamwork.

The society is open to all students, regardless of their artistic background or experience. We encourage experimentation, creativity, and fun! By joining the Arts and Crafts Society, members become part of a dynamic and creative community that celebrates artistic expression and supports individual growth.
