About

The Western Cultural Society (WCS) of Loreto College is a society where talent meets opportunity. The vibrant and dynamic society is dedicated to showcasing diverse talents through electrifying stage performances and engaging cyphers of various genres such as pop, jazz, indie or some soul filling visual arts. It not only provides a platform for artists to shine but also boost their confidence and foster growth. As one of the most inclusive and active societies on campus, it hosts a wide array of cultural activities, creating a space where students can interact and collaborate with peers in and outside the institution. These include Freshers' Welcome for first year students, the Third Year Farewell, and the Teachers' Day programme in college. The society hosts the vastly popular western group dance and band competitions at the annual college fest, SAMAGAM. Over the years the society has regularly put up a music request stall at the Open Day. At the Reunion of the Loreto College Alumnae Association WCS has consistently evoked nostalgia through their rendition of retro western numbers for the past pupils. WCS routinely participates in competitions and fests organised by other institutions. Through their talent, spontaneity, involvement, dedication and willingness for participation, student members have brought in many accolades and laurels to the college, unforgettable experiences, and cherished memories.

As WCS continues to celebrate their successes, it eagerly anticipates welcoming more talented singers, beatboxers, instrumentalists, and dancers to join. Together, the society looks forward to creating new, memorable experiences and achieving even greater heights. Join it and be part of a society that celebrates creativity, encourages self-expression, and connects members with a broader network of aspiring artists.
