Economics Department Alumnae Meet: Connexion 2026
On January 3, 2026, the Department of Economics of Loreto College, Kolkata organised its second edition of annual alumnae meet, Connexion 2026- a confluence of alumnae from the department's first pass outs to its most recent batches. The event instilled nostalgia and evoked beautiful memories through its thoughtfully curated segments. It started with an inaugural song followed by a welcome address by the Founding Head, Dr. Suranjana Mitra, whose vision and guidance had been instrumental in shaping the department. Conceptualised by the department faculty members and organised by the current students, the event featured interactive segments namely, 'The Invisible Thread', 'Economic Charades', and 'Where Paths Return'-which witnessed enthusiastic participation. The alumnae spoke about their days in college, their journeys beyond and also how they would like to give back to the department. The cake cutting ceremony was organised thereafter marking the spirit of togetherness. Memoria - a presentation capturing the different moments of their journey with the department was shown that gave glimpses of nostalgia and reconnection. Connexion 2026 ended with a rendition of songs by the current batch of first and second year students followed by refreshments and informal interactions. The evening was filled with gratitude, warmth and hope, celebrating a department that truly feels like home.
