Life Skills Workshop for PG English Students
The Centre for Life Skills, Loreto College, Kolkata, organised a Life Skills Workshop for PG English Semester I and III students on 8 December 2025. The workshop aimed at enhancing essential life skills that support students’ academic engagement, interpersonal effectiveness, and personal growth.
The first half of the session was conducted by Dr. Mainak Bhattacharjee and Ms. Tania Mondal, who focused on four important life skills—creative thinking, problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective communication. The session encouraged students to explore innovative ways of thinking, approach challenges analytically, and communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence. Through interactive discussions and relatable examples, the facilitators highlighted how these skills play a crucial role in academic work, professional readiness, and everyday decision-making.
The second half of the workshop was led by Dr. Ranjita Dawn, who addressed the theme "Leadership in the Present Era". Her session examined leadership from a contemporary perspective, emphasising qualities such as adaptability, ethical awareness, teamwork, and responsible decision-making. Students were guided to reflect on leadership as a dynamic process that can be practised in academic, professional, and social contexts.
The workshop was marked by active participation and thoughtful engagement from the students. Overall, the programme provided a meaningful platform for learners to develop essential life skills and gain insights into leadership, contributing positively to their overall learning experience.
