Faculty Upscaling Program

The Department of Education, Loreto College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organised a Faculty Upscaling Program on 16th December 2025 at 2:00 p.m. onwards in Room 218. The session was conducted by Dr. Gauri P. Hardikar, Senior Vice President, World Curriculum, Comparative Education Societies, on the topic "Empowering Students through Mentoring". The programme aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding of mentoring as a vital academic and emotional support mechanism in higher education. A total of six teachers from the Department of Education actively participated in the session. The discussion was highly informative and interactive, focusing on the concept of mentoring, its significance in student development, and the different types of mentoring practices. Dr. Hardikar enriched the session by discussing real-life cases, enabling participants to reflect on practical challenges and effective mentoring strategies. The outcome of the programme was a deeper understanding among the faculty members of structured and need-based mentoring, equipping them with insights to support students more effectively in their academic, personal, and professional growth. Overall, the programme proved to be intellectually stimulating and professionally enriching, contributing meaningfully to faculty development and teaching-learning enhancement.
