International Day of Persons with Disabilities
On the 10th of December 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the Education Society and the B.Ed. Department of Loreto College, in collaboration with Akshar School, commemorated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with the aim of celebrating inclusivity, empathy, and active participation. The programme began in the college auditorium with an introductory session where Dr. Debika Guha sensitised the students by sharing the history of Akshar School and the purpose of the event. Students from Classes XI and XII of Akshar School actively participated in the programme along with the students of the Education Society and Sem-I B.Ed. students, who played a key role in organising and engaging in the activities. A fun-filled quiz conducted by the Education Society students generated great enthusiasm, followed by a video presentation on Loreto College and an interactive question-and-answer session where students shared their hobbies, inspirations, dreams, and curiosities. The programme then moved to the B.Ed. Department classrooms, where each student was warmly introduced and presented with a gift and a card, followed by lively singing and dancing segments that created an atmosphere of joy, encouragement, and mutual appreciation. A drawing activity further allowed the students to express their creativity and artistic skills. The event concluded with the collection of feedback from the students, distribution of refreshments, and a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving behind cherished memories and reinforcing the spirit of inclusion and togetherness.
