Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Loreto College, Kolkata and Child Rights and You (CRY)

Loreto College, Kolkata, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Child Rights and You (CRY) on November 10, 2025 to strengthen its commitment to community outreach, social responsibility, and experiential learning. This collaboration aims to create meaningful engagement opportunities for students and faculty in promoting child rights and holistic community development.

Under this partnership, students of Loreto College actively participate in field-based learning, awareness campaigns, and research initiatives focused on education, child protection, and health. Through workshops, surveys, and community outreach programmes facilitated by CRY, students gain practical exposure to developmental issues affecting children and underprivileged communities in Kolkata. The collaboration encourages students to apply academic knowledge to real-world contexts while nurturing empathy, leadership, and civic consciousness.

The MoU reinforces the College's objective of integrating service learning with academic growth. It provides a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration across departments and aligns with the institutional vision of empowering young women to contribute meaningfully to society. Activities undertaken through this partnership include surveys of educational needs in local schools, child rights awareness drives, and participation in CRY-led advocacy initiatives.

Through this sustained association, Loreto College and CRY jointly work towards creating an inclusive and equitable society where every child's rights to education, protection, participation, and development are upheld. The College looks forward to continuing and expanding this partnership in future academic sessions.
