National Level Blogging Event- Inkspark 2025: Digital Literacy and Misinformation: Educating the Mind in the Age of Social Media
The Education Society of Loreto College hosted Inkspark 2025 on September 08, 2025, celebrating International Literacy Day with a National Level Blogging Competition on the theme "Digital Literacy and Misinformation: Educating the Mind in the Age of Social Media".
The event brought together 17 participants from 9 colleges, with 7 Kolkata based institutions attending in person and 2 from outside West Bengal joining virtually.
The programme opened with a prayer service and lamp lighting, followed by inspiring addresses from faculty and student leaders. Judges for the event were Mrs. Sudeshna Basu, researcher and podcaster, and Dr. Neeta Dang, senior faculty member of the Department of Education.
Participants delivered powerful presentations, using examples, case studies, videos, and critical reflections to explore the role of digital literacy in countering misinformation.The event concluded with the declaration of results. The Winner was Presidency University and the Runners-up was St. Xavier’s University
Trophies were awarded by the judges, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by a member of the Education Society.
Inkspark 2025 was a resounding success, celebrating the spirit of literacy, critical thinking, and digital responsibility.
