Teacher's Day Celebration 2025
Loreto College celebrated Teacher's Day 2025 with a vibrant and creatively curated event on September 4th that perfectly blended humour, heartfelt gratitude, and critical thought. Held in the College Concert Hall, the one-hour celebration was a testament to the ingenuity and affection with which students honour their mentors.
The celebration opened with a powerful skit by the Dramatics Society, centred on the growing presence of Artificial Intelligence in education. Through humour and emotion, the performance beautifully conveyed that while technology can simulate information delivery, it can never replace the emotional, spiritual, and intellectual guidance that only a teacher can provide. The audience was visibly moved, reflecting the deep impact of the message.
Next came the much-anticipated "Silver Screen", a hilarious and detailed mimicry of beloved faculty members. With impeccable observation and affectionate humour, students from the English Cultural Society (ECS), Western Cultural Society (WCS), and Spicmacay captured everything from iconic phrases to classroom quirks - drawing laughter and applause while celebrating the unique personalities that make Loreto's teaching community so special.
A touching video interview produced by the History Society offered a moment of reflection, highlighting student testimonials and heartfelt messages for professors, encapsulating the respect and affection the student body holds for their mentors.
Adding rhythm to the celebration, the AICUF Society presented an energetic dance performance, followed by a musical medley that brought the event to a joyful close.
The success of the programme was made possible through the collaborative efforts of:
Art & Craft Society - overall décor and artistic coordination
Media and Cine Society - media coverage and videography
ICT Society – technical support and logistics
A celebration where fun and banter met depth and reflection, echoing the spirit of Loreto College.
