UN MUN Cell Orientation Programme

The UN MUN Cell of Loreto College, organised its Orientation Programme on August 29, 2025, receiving an enthusiastic and encouraging response from students across disciplines. The programme aimed to familiarize students with the objectives, structure, and unique opportunities offered by the Cell, which was inaugurated in March 2025.

The session began with an introduction to the inception and purpose of the UN MUN Cell. Established to foster awareness about global governance, diplomacy, and the functioning of the United Nations, the Cell provides a platform for students to develop key skills such as research, negotiation, and public speaking, while promoting leadership and critical thinking in the realm of international affairs.

A distinctive feature of the Cell is its exclusive online internship opportunity for two selected students with the IBVM/CJ NGO, an organization in consultative status with the Nations. United This internship offers invaluable exposure to UN processes, policy discussions, and advocacy work on global issues.

The orientation also highlighted the benefits of membership, which include participation in Model United Nations conferences, engagement in workshops and debates, leadership opportunities, and interaction with international affairs experts.

During the session, the staff advisors and student representatives were introduced to the audience, sharing their vision for the Cell's forthcoming activities, collaborations, and events. A registration link was provided to enable interested students to join the Cell, and the session witnessed an impressive number of spot registrations, reflecting the students' enthusiasm and eagerness to engage in UN-based academic and co-curricular initiatives.

The programme concluded with an interactive discussion, setting a strong foundation for an exciting year ahead for the UN MUN Cell at Loreto College.
