An Orientation to West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme (WBSCCS)
Following the general orientation for First Year students on August 4, 2025 and the commencement of classes the next day, Loreto College has planned a series of student induction programmes and sessions under Deeksharambh. The aim is to help school students transition into college life by familiarizing them with the facilities, opportunities, services, etc. that they can access in and through college.
In accordance with this initiative, an orientation to the West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme (WBSCCS) was organized for all undergraduate students of Semester I who are freshers or newcomers in the college. The session was held on August 12, 2025 at the college auditorium. It was conducted by the Nodal Officers for WBSCCS, Mrs. Archita Roy Biswas and Dr. Debasree Sinha. Attended by about 230 students, the programme introduced them to the credit card system, its benefits, eligibility for application, important contact information and website, loan coverage, and such other relevant information. The students were equipped with the basic knowledge about the scheme and its advantages, which would be useful at the time of application.
