Abki Baar Yuvaaon Ki Sarkaar 4.0

The Political Science Society of Loreto College successfully hosted the fourth edition of its annual flagship event, 'Abki Baar Yuvaaon Ki Sarkaar,' on 24th July 2025. As part of the Society's continuous effort to integrate political knowledge with participatory learning, this inter-departmental event engaged students through a format that mirrored real-world political campaigning and deliberation on national issues. It aimed to foster leadership, articulation, and critical thinking among participants.

The event was structured into two rounds. In the first round, "Sarkar ki Sunwayi," six teams of two students each presented their fictional political parties. Each team introduced their party's name, symbol, ideology, and key policy priorities. The manifestos reflected a spectrum of ideologies-from left-leaning reformists and centrist progressives to right-leaning traditionalists. Key themes included digital governance, transparency, grassroots constitutionalism, and the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

In the second round, "Charcha" or "Baat Vivad," teams engaged in a moderated group discussion on the motion: "Should the Uniform Civil Code be implemented throughout India?" The debate was dynamic and thoughtful, highlighting diverse perspectives-from advocacy for gender justice and national integration to concerns about inclusivity and religious autonomy. Students impressed the judges with their clarity, research, and critical thinking.

The party 'Jan Samanta Dal' of Shruti Rajak, a Second-year English Major, and Zubia Khan, a first-year Political Science major, was declared the Best Team. Shruti Rajak was also awarded Best Speaker, followed by Sohini Mullick, a first-year Psychology major. The audience vote placed Shruti and Zubia's party in first position and the party 'Jagarata Janagan' of Jyestha Rai and Mehuli Rudra, first-years Political Science major's party in the second position.

The judges appreciated the participants for their originality, research, and effective communication—attributes that reflect the intellectual vibrancy of the student body.

Abki Baar Yuvaaon Ki Sarkaar 4.0 once again proved to be a powerful platform for students to engage with pressing political issues, practice democratic dialogue, and demonstrate mature political consciousness. The Political Science Society remains committed to fostering an informed and socially responsible student community.
