International Plastic Bag Free Day, 2025

The event celebrating International Plastic Bag Free Day,2025 was held in collaboration with Hulladeck and Magpet. Our resource person, Ms.Anisha Pandey conducted a detailed talk on different types of plastic and their usefulness.
The event was led by Mrs.Nayanika Saha who gave an introductory speech about plastic awareness followed by the felicitation of our resource person with a potted sapling and gifts.
Ms.Anisha Pandey talked about the harmfulness of single-use plastics. She mentioned that not all plastics are harmful. Plastics which are thicker, can be reused. She also talked about recycling plastics. She talked about reusable cloth bags which should be used instead of single-use plastics and CET and PET plastics are perpetually recyclable. PET can be recycled into polyester.
Towards the end of the session, there was an interactive section where the students of Sem II and Sem IV participated in answering several quiz questions. The vote of thanks was delivered by the President of W.E. Nature Society, Shreyasi Misra.
The event was concluded with the inauguration of the Smart AI Enabled R bin donated by Magpet where reusable plastic PET bottles were dropped by our Staff Advisors and students of Sem II and Sem IV.
The International Plastic Bag Free Day celebration served as a meaningful platform to raise awareness about the environmental impact of plastic usage and the importance of adopting sustainable alternatives. With valuable insights shared by Ms. Anisha Pandey and enthusiastic participation from students, the event successfully highlighted the urgent need to reduce single-use plastics and encouraged responsible recycling habits. The inauguration of the Smart R bin marked a significant step toward practical environmental action. Initiatives like these, in collaboration with organizations like Hulladeck and Magpet, continue to empower individuals and communities to make conscious, eco-friendly choices for a cleaner and greener future.
