Financial Literacy Program



The objective of the programme: The objective was to educate the participants about financial management.

The Financial Literacy Program for the support staff was held in Loreto College, Kolkata on 25.6.25 at 12: 15 p.m by banking professionals from State Bank of India. The speakers were Ashish Pandey, Trainee Officer and Sudip Nath, Branch Manager, State Bank of India. They educated the participants about opening a salary account and opting for an ATM card. They also talked about public provident fund (PPF) and what are the benefits of it. Participants who had daughters below 10 years of age were suggested to go for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), a government scheme for promotion of the welfare of the girl child. The speakers also spoke about the benefits of taking a credit card. The session was followed by questions regarding credit card which were answered. Few of the participants had queries regarding housing loans. The speakers explained in detail about the housing loan. The session went on having queries regarding financial management and savings from the participants. The session ended by thanking the speakers and the participants.
