Handing Over Ceremony 2025
The Handing Over Ceremony of the Loreto College Student Council (2024–2025) was held on 24th May, 2025, with the theme "From Legacy to Leadership - The Flame Lives On." The event began at 10:00 a.m. with soft instrumental music as faculty members, students, and parents gathered in anticipation. The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Sr. Dr. A. Nirmala, Chief Guest Dr. Charlotte Simpson Veigas, and senior faculty member Mangala Chakravarty. A symbolic candle walk followed, during which each Student Council member placed a candle around the lamp as the names of each society’s President, Vice-President, and Treasurer were announced.
The most poignant moment came when outgoing President, Sanjula Shanker handed over the college flag to incoming President Anuja Prasad, symbolizing the transfer of leadership. This was followed by Vice-President, Tanushua Goswami passing on her responsibilities to Atreyee Banerjee, and Treasurer, Kamalika Halder to Soumi Pal. The outgoing council expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Teacher-in-Charge, faculty, and support staff, and delivered valedictory speeches. Society heads submitted annual reports, and the outgoing council received certificates and personalized gifts. Inspiring addresses by Dr. Veigas and Sr. Nirmala marked the occasion.
