A national webinar on the Indus-Saraswati Civilization was organized by the Departments of History at Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous Bengaluru and at Loreto College, Kolkata on 19 August 2025. Dr. G. B. Harisha, Former Director, Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Hanoi, Republic of Vietnam was the resource person. The aim of the session was to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the cultural and religious aspects of this ancient civilization and to critically analyse its place in Indian historiography.

Dr. Harisha's main focus was the spread of the Indus-Saraswati Civilization along the Indus and the now-extinct Saraswati River, during the chronological span from 2600 to 1900 BCE. He explored various aspects of the theme, weaving together archaeology, paleontology, history and historiography. His lecture provided participants with an alternative lens through which to study the Indus-Saraswati Civilization. The session concluded with a lively question-answer segment in which the students participated actively by putting forward incisive queries.
