Value Added Programme on Film and Media Appreciation
On July 30, 2025, certificates were awarded to all students who completed the Value-Added Programme in Film and Media Appreciation, organised by the Departments of Film Studies and Journalism & Mass Communication.
The course spanned several months, with weekly classes held from November 11, 2024, to March 17, 2025. As the name suggests, the course covered essential aspects of film and media with relevant resource persons like Mr. Deshkalyan Chowdhury, Mrs. Subha Das Mollick, Ms. Ayatii Roy, Mr. Aditya Bikram Bhowmick and others providing insight about fields like photography, photo-journalism, script-writing, videography and editing.
Mr. Aditya Bikram Bhowmick, who had taken a session on video editing during the course, distributed the certificates amongst the students. The coordinators of the course- Mrs. Dipanwita Ghosh, Head of the Department of Film Studies and Dr. Soumya Dutta, Head of the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, congratulated the students too. Ms. Sushmita Gomes, Co-ordinator of the Value Added Course Committee, was present as well.
The day was the culmination of an insightful course designed to help the students in their future careers.
