Presentationon September 24, 2019

On the 24th September, the students of the Department of Economics namely, Annesha
Chatterjee, Suchismita Mukherjee, Syeda Farkhanda and Udita Sen presented a paper in the
College Research Cell titled: Drive towards Digitization: A Comparative study on India vis-a-vis
the World. The paper essentially aimed to reflect the impact of the dissemination of digital
technology on the growth of both developing as well as emerging market economies and then
investigating a comparative analysis of India with respect to the two categories. The paper
essentially concluded that India is doing well in comparison to the developed economies due to
the effectiveness of the catch-up effect, but lags behind in its own category of emerging market
economies due to a lack of established secured internet servers and fixed broadband
subscriptions. Thus, India has a more or less diverging impact with average performance in
terms of dissemination of digital technology.

The presentation was witnessed by all the students of the Department of Economics and B.Ed
students as well as the faculty members. It was quite an enriching experience on both sides of
the Dias.
