Special Lecture on Indian Foreign Policy since 1991: Trends and Shifts



On January 3, 2024, the Department of Political Science at Loreto College, Kolkata, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a special lecture on “Indian Foreign Policy since 1991: Trends and Shifts.” The resource person for the event was Dr. Aneek Chatterjee, the Head of the Department of Political Science at Sister Nibedita GGD College for Girls.

The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Debika Guha, the Officiating Principal. Mrs. Sayoni Choudhuri Patra, the Head of the Department of Political Science, then extended her greetings and felicitated Dr. Chatterjee. Dr. Chatterjee’s discourse covered a detailed analysis of India’s relations with neighbouring countries, shedding light on the nuances of the nation’s foreign policy. The speaker delved into key geopolitical relationships, including those with China, Russia, and the USA, and provided valuable insights. The session was followed by a question-and-answer segment, with students engaging actively in the discussion and posing insightful queries to Dr. Chatterjee.
