On September 21, 2022, the second-year students were privileged to attend an enriching and inspirational address from Ms. Pratyusa Sen, the 2021 Enid Lafonte Award recipient. Her talk was captivating and focused on the skills and knowledge essential for succeeding in the highly competitive world.

Ms. Sen began by expressing her gratitude to Loreto College for instilling in her the values of responsibility and discipline, as well as how the activities carried out at college can prove beneficial in the future. She then went on to highlight the importance of balancing commitments and responsibilities, as well as the significance of financial independence for women. Ms. Sen shared her journey of navigating the professional world and recounted how she had managed to juggle her role as a lab assistant with her studies.

Ms. Sen's inspiring message to the students was clear – prioritize studies and make investments in yourself through internships, external courses, and applications such as Coursera, Internshala, Linkedin, and Udemy to build better CVs and gain certifications. She encouraged them to explore their options, experience new things, and expand their horizons outside of academia. With her motto of 'The 4 Es' (Explore, Experience, Enjoy, and Expand), she reminded the students that investing in themselves is an invaluable asset. To further motivate them, she provided a list of inspiring books, such as Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Ikigai, and The Psychology of Money. By the end of the session, Ms. Sen had successfully instilled in the students the importance of making investments in themselves, in order to broaden their perspectives and hone their skills. She concluded the session by emphasizing the need to stay inspired and go beyond the expected.
