Talk on Editing and Publishing

A session on Editing and Publishing was conducted by Mrs Shumaila Taher on November 18, 2022. Mrs. Taher, an alumna of the Collge, is an editor and writer based in Mumbai. She has been a columnist for various online publications including The Curious Reader, The Punch magazine and Atticus Reviews. Elle magazine featured her as one of the top 7 book reviewers from India. The talk was attended by third year and M.A. students of Loreto College. Mrs. Taher focused on how students can shape their passion into a successful career and how she reinforced experiences and lessons learnt via extracurricular activities in college and internships in the real-world. In her lecture she emphasised on the importance of being disciplined and patient. The students were encouraged to learn from failures and not be demoralized. By sharing her career trajectory Mrs. Taher helped students understand the importance of informed decision making at every crossroad in life. The talk concluded with a lively interactive session between the speaker and students.
