The title of her presentation was ‘Positioning Sociology in Relation to Other Disciplines’. This Web-talk was designed to enable students discover a sociological perspective in their own respective disciplines and to encourage an inter-disciplinary understanding. Through her presentation, the speaker addressed and encouraged the students to understand the overlapping boundaries of diverse disciplinary perspectives by infusing her deliberations with multiple examples from Psychology, History, Literature, Education, Geography, Economics, Medicine and Law. She pointed out the interconnectedness of the social world and left the students with a thought to ponder over: how insulated can any social science be?
