Loreto College has made me a confident, responsible and intelligent woman. The institution through its values has made a difference in my life and moreover taught me to make a difference in the lives of people i come in contact with. I am grateful to my college for teaching me the importance of humility, appreciation, gratitude and service.

Loreto College has honed my leadership skills and given me the opportunity to be a young committed woman, alive to the needs of the world. I got recruited on campus and was placed in Cognizant Technology Solutions, as an Instructional Designer. Trained with the Loreto values of sincerity and commitment, i have been able to go the extra mile in the field ofsocial work in Cognizant's Outreach initiative. I thank Loreto College for helping me become the young woman of change.

My Department helped me grow as a student, as my Professors taught me not only how to master the subject, but also how to be the master of my own life. And my College helped me grow as a person, as it taught me how to be a responsible, humble and grateful human being. Proud to be a Loretoite! Thank you Loreto!

Education Hon.(2012-2015)

Loreto instilled in me all the qualities that an Education institution is expected to - perfection, punctuality, discipline, management of time, resources and people, and of course self-management. It also helped me bring out the leadership and entrepreneurial qualities in me and truly gave me wings to fly! P.S. I owe the foundation of my entrepreneurial venture - Wrilax (Write to Relax) to the skill of Calligraphy that i learnt at this institution.

English Hon.(2016-2019)

In the three years of undergraduate study that I have been a part of Loreto College, I must say that most of its values have become a way of life for me. The list of rules which looked like a hard task to keep up with have now been planted within me almost naturally, and much of it became visible after I was plunged into the world outside the college. Any sort of academic or non-academic success that comes my way instantly traces itself back to something that I had picked up in this institution. The department of English is nothing short of being called "home" and every faculty member has so much more than just teaching the prescribed syllabus to offer. Life at Loreto College cannot quite be described, it must be experienced.

While Loreto has left an indelible imprint on my heart, I feel fortunate to be representing my roots on an international platform today. It has equipped me with the confidence and charisma of a young woman, leading on change in a modern society with her passion and perseverance. I am grateful for the grooming, guidance and encouragement received from the faculty that propelled me to pave a path of success and stand out from the crowd today. From a Carmel girl to a Loreto lady, the values instilled in this journey, shall guide my way through every crest and trough of life.

English Hon.(2011-2014)

In 2011, I joined Loreto College for my undergraduate course of English. It was a completely new experience, in a new city, and even though I would rather go back to the college in my hometown, I soon discovered that Loreto was a nice place - it was gradually growing on me. It was here that I got recognition for my singing, in addition to the sound learning I was already getting. Teachers have been so nice and kind to me - building and developing confidence in me as a student. I have extremely happy memories of the tutorials, the Concert Hall, the classrooms, the canteen and the ground and even now, I go back to my college whenever I feel the world around me is getting tough.

Loreto College to me is like an ancient Banyan tree with deep roots and a canopy above. Every leaf had a new life lesson, every branch a new opportunity to move upward. It's shade was perfectly nourishing, filling me up with knowledge, away from the noisy world, silently working towards my growth. Eventually, the bloom came and it all happened under the mighty old tree. It will live forever in me and I will forever bear it's name.

It's been 5 years since I graduated from Loreto College and not a day goes by when I don't reminisce my time there as a student of Education Honours. Loreto College, in ways more than one, has instilled in me the zeal to aspire for the stars. My professors have been the biggest motivation & they continue to inspire me. Every year, ever since I graduated, I have been attending the alumni meet. It's almost a yearly tradition, running up to my teachers, their faces shining as they see you, talking and confiding in them as if time has stopped. My heart swells with pride every time I talk about my alma mater because regardless of the universities I went to after graduation, nothing comes close to the enriching and holistic experience I was given in Loreto. As an alumnus, I will continue imbibing the same values I was taught, and hope I can give back and be of value to a place that prepared me to face the world.

History Hon.(2005-2008)

It was a dream come true for me when I got an opportunity to study in Loreto College. My college not only taught me History but also values. I remember having Value Education classes on Wednesdays. The lessons imparted in those classes have made me a matured and responsible human being. As far as History lessons were concerned we had the best of teachers. I received immense love, affection, care and guidance from my teachers. Am sure my friends also share the same opinion. I feel proud to say that my college has one of the best libraries with an extensive collection of books. Loreto College also encouraged students to participate in extracurricular activities as well. These were equally important. All good things come to an end. My three years in Loreto were over too soon. I receive the same amount of love and affection when I go back to my college as an alumnus.

There is a saying: "Sometimes you don't know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." It is only now that I am starting to understand the value of the three years spent in Loreto, and the importance of the lessons it imparts to its students. Being a part of the Department of English, its classrooms taught us about Shelley, Keats and Coleridge, and slowly we learnt to notice and appreciate the poetic elements in the world around us. While studying Aristotle's Tragedy and Comedy, we realised how aptly it all applies to Life as well. As we learnt about the spirit of enquiry while reading Renaissance literature, we ended up imbibing some of that spirit ourselves. Moreover, the College through its extra-curricular activities promotes teamwork, and instils qualities of persistence, ownership, and self-confidence: significant traits for smooth sailing across all areas of life. Personally, Loreto College has been like a whetstone that has shaped me and made me aware of my highest potential. Words fall short when I try to express my gratitude towards this institution. All I can say is- I may not be a part of Loreto College any more but I carry a part of Loreto within me everywhere I go.

B.Ed.(2016-2018)

In 2016, I got a chance to pursue the 2 years B.Ed. course in Loreto College as a deputed teacher. It was an extremely demanding course not only because it groomed future educators but it focused on academic excellence along with honing finer facets like presentation skills, teamwork, time management, leadership and self-competencies. Every new task looked gruelling but I ended up discovering a better and more capable self which was so rewarding. The list of what I learnt is endless but apart from the myriad academic and professional skills that I could manage to acquire in these two years, I learnt to deliver effectively even with lurking deadlines. Faculty par excellence, brilliant infrastructure, splendid ambiance, wellequipped classrooms, a plethora of study material, lectures with interesting insights, a focus on individual personal development; Loreto had everything one could ask for but what set it apart was the moral fabric that so beautifully infused in me the Loreto values of humility, dedication, commitment and gratitude. The dedicated mentors inspired in me an urge to always go that extra yard to become a responsible teacher, to rise above my limitations and work with fullest integrity. It was undoubtedly one of the most exhaustive academic courses but it was the most profound and fulfilling as well.

Loreto College has stood out as a beacon of hope for my grandmother, mother and myself. Having completed my English Honours and B.Ed. from Loreto, what has stood out for me the most is the splendid faculty, nurturing us into confident individuals ready to face the fast changing world. My journey at Loreto has been one filled with tremendous learning and personal development, be it within the four walls of the classroom or outside. I've witnessed myself grow throughout the years into a more holistic person.

B.Ed.(2015-2017)

The two years spent at Loreto College has shaped me into a person which I would have never envisioned by myself. The college has made me not only more confident but also a more responsible human being. With eminent professors to guide us and teach us the difference between right and wrong not only in our workspace but in life as well, education here has always been beyond just the four walls. I thank each professor of mine in their uncompromising devotion towards making this experience a very enriching one.

Loreto College has not only given me quality education but also a way of life. It has helped me grow and mature in multiple ways in the personal as well as professional spheres. The B.Ed Department has shaped me into a hardworking and responsible person along with sharpening my teaching skills. It has instilled in me the qualities of leadership, perseverance, dedication and commitment. I am pursing full-time PhD at present. Loreto College, Department of B.Ed. made me a true 'human being'. This premier institution has unlocked my full potential and the Loreto values that were so intricately weaved within our system, has molded me into an individual who is responsible, disciplined and conscientious. I seek to promulgate all the treasures that I have received from my college to the society at large. We have been taught that- "to be a good teacher, you need to be a good person" and I am truly indebted to my Department (B.Ed.) at Loreto College for shaping me into such an individual.

Radhika Ghosh

B.Ed.(2016-2018)

Loreto College has played an immense role in shaping me to be the person I am today. As a B.Ed. trainee, I was exposed to diverse opportunities and activities that not only nurtured my skills as a future teacher but also instilled in me confidence and self-awareness. The continuous guidance from the professors contributed to bring out the best in me. The Loreto values, specially the Community Outreach service which is an integral part of the college, inculcated in me the spirit of selfless love and helped me to be of service to others. In life whenever I have felt defeated, the words of our respected principal Sr. Christine have echoed in my ears, "If there is a will there is a way. If there is no way, make a way." Loreto College is an experience of a lifetime. Thank you, Loreto!
