Student Research Project ’Inter relationship of festivals and the environment: A paper on the impact of Durga Puja on the environment in Kolkata’ on August 22, 2015

Deepal Doshi, a bright student of Geography Honours (2012-2015) deliberated on "Inter relationship of festivals and the environment: A paper on the impact of Durga Puja on the environment in Kolkata". This study was undertaken under the supervision of Ms. Sharmila Ray Kumam. As a part of the initiative by Research Cell to promote quality student research, the Cell organized the presentation of the Project on 22.8.2015 in the college auditorium.

Deepal’s study went deep into the environmental hazards which were overlooked amidst the festivity of Durga Puja 2013. The study puts forward some recommendations for a greener celebration which are helpful if implemented in future.
